Has Melting Become a Trend??

drip-table

The other day, I commented on a very cool pair of sunglasses that were showcased at the  Klavers van Engelen fall / winter 2008-2009 fashion show.  Well it seems I only scratched the surface of this melting/liquid trend. I have to admit I think the table is far cooler then the sunglasses.

Supposedly the design was concepted by John Nouanesing – http://www.johnnouanesing.fr/

props to eddie for the find.

G.O.A.T. Opening to any Blog Post

No pictured needed…just words alone have the ability to represent the extreme nature of this blog post.  I was getting ready to lay down a few posts last night, as I usually do.  You know the fun, up beat, wow that was cool kind, but after reading John’s post on the Gerber LMF II, I knew I had to give it at least 12-24 hours to shine at the top.  Why you may ask, well because of the first paragraph.

Let’s recall this post, why don’t we:

“Do you need a knife for hunting and skinning, for chopping wood, for throwing or tying to a stick as a projectile, for hammering, for prying, and for self defense? Well this is the knife you want. The Gerber LMF II ASEK is the finest knife I’ve owned, and I’ve owned
a lot of them.”

See, like I said no picture needed.

The Gerber LMF II

The Gerber LMF II

Do you need a knife for hunting and skinning, for chopping wood, for throwing or tying to a stick as a projectile, for hammering, for prying, and for self defense? Well this is the knife you want. The Gerber LMF II ASEK is the finest knife I’ve owned, and I’ve owned
a lot of them.
This knife is as tough as they get, and has the versatility far beyond the standard hunting knife and the junk “Rambo” survival knives that get sold at gun shows. This one has a full tang design, so no hollow handle to break (who the hell needs fishing hooks anyway – you can spear those suckers with this knife). The blade is Sandvik Stainless and keeps its edge beautifully. The rubber handle fits the hand perfect, and works nicely for a “roll of quarters” effect to support your fist – if necessary! The butt end works as a hammer or glass break, and the serrated blade has sawed through galvanized sheet metal. You cannot destroy this knife!
I’ve had mine for years and it stays as clean and sharp as the day I bought it. I promise you that you will not find a better hunting/tactical/survival knife on the market. Check it out… Gerber Knives Direct

Melting Sunglasses

Before advertising I used to work at Sunglass Hut (who kidding, I still do).  And over the last 5 years I have become a fan of sunglasses, which in the end, has resulted in me buying a new pair every year.  Hey, sunglasses are like shoes, you have to have certain designs for certain outfits.  Anyways, I came across these tonight from a Klavers van Engelen fall / winter 2008-2009 fashion show.  The design is just crazy and definitely eye catching. Props to the designer.

For all the silhouets go to www.klaversvanengelen.com

Fun Fact: the word “sunglass” is not a real word, but some how the Sunglass Hut continues to get away with it. I always laugh when I hear people in the store say Sunglasses Hut.

I have actually seen the Audi ad mutliple times and thought, what a bold move to call BMW out like that.  After seeing this picture I think it is safe to say that BMW made the right move.

Current Network TwitteRFP

in Advertising, Point of View 1 Comment

On Thursday, April 23rd – Jordan Kretchmer, Vice President of Brand at The Current Network put out a social RFP to the ad world through the most social platform available, Twitter (http://twitter.com/Jkretch/status/1596088784).  Searching for a full service ad agnecy partner, Jordan quickly began to recieve pitch after pitch from agencies across the country.  Not to be out done, Triumph360 quickly got involved.

Learning about the pitch late in the week, Triumph360 acted quickly to come up with an idea, in hopes of making the short list.  We saw most agencies develop videos, while others leveraged Twitter connections to get celebrities to give Jordan recommendations on who he should pick.  Props to that agency – you know who you are.

In the end Triumph360 chose to take a different approach, and one that we stand by.  That approach was to leverage social, search and web development in hopes of showing Jordan and the Current Network that by combining all three you can succeed with any campaign.  Time will tell if our approach was the right one.  Either, way we had fun being part of history.

Thanks Jordan and the Current Network Team.

A Success! – Hockeython 2009

in T360 Fund No Comments

hockeython2009pic11My back hurts, I can’t walk and every muscle in my body is sore.  Oddly enough, it feels great!!  Hockeython 2009 was truly amazing.  Held this past Saturday, more than 60 players participated, tons of spectators, live music, food and memorabilia for auction from The New York Rangers, The New York Jets, The NHL and The New York Lancers  (from the team’s long well documented history) was all auctioned off for an incredible charity – The Hope and Heroes Foundation.

One note about Hockeython organizer, Gerry Borsellino – the man is amazing.  In addition to his already hectic schedule of work commitments and family obligations, Gerry dedicated the time and effort to organize this event and raise an incredible amount of money for Hope and Heroes.  His efforts are truly an inspiration.

While it was terrific to be involved, having Triumph360 as a leading corporate sponsor felt great.  Again, a big thanks to all friends and partners of Triumph360 for their contributions.

After hours and hours of hockey The New York Lancers captured their second consecutive Hockeython Championship winning the tournament going undefeated – an added bonus to the entire evening.

I spent all of Sunday eating cupcakes as a reward to myself :-)

A Perfect Monday Morning Video
