If the above quote from British trend research company Contagious does not sum up the evolution advertising in 2009, I don’t know what does.  No matter if you are an agency or a client, how many times did the idea of Twitter, Facebook, and/or Mobile Applications come up during brainstorm meetings…if only because talking about impressions and CPM’s all day can become tiring.  So, how often?  Well if I were a betting a man I would say – 100 percent of the time.  In 2009 alone Twitter (founded in 03/2006) saw mass adoption from news channels to celebrities, brands and probably your father – even if he doesn’t know he has a page (i.e. @shitmydadsays).

November 2009 U.S. Search Rankings (comScore)

Google Sites led the U.S. core search market in November with 65.6 percent of the searches conducted, followed by Yahoo! Sites (17.5 percent), Ask Network captured 3.8 percent of the search market, followed by AOL LLC with 2.8 percent.  Microsoft Sites increased their search share for the sixth consecutive month, settling at 10.3% for the month.

Americans conducted 14.4 billion searches in November, up 1 percent from October. Google Sites accounted for 9.5 billion searches, followed by Yahoo! Sites (2.5 billion), Microsoft Sites (1.5 billion), Ask Network (548 million) and AOL LLC (401 million).
