AXE has launched one bad ass print ad in Uruguay to promote their new AXE Day and Night. Knowing your target audience is the key to why this campaign works so well. AXE knows their audience are both men and in the age bracket that actively use their phones. So leveraging this knowledge they chose to roll out with an incomplete ad. The ad (on the right) shows a model in a suggestive pose, but any NSFW content is blocked out. To see the full ad you needed to follow the below instructions:
To complete this ad send AXE to 2345 after 9 pm.
Once you fulfilled the requirements, an MMS image was sent to you (left image) that allowed the user complete the ad, driving increased interaction and frequency – Brilliant!!
Last week, the three interns went on a mad search for free or relatively cheap mannequin’s to borrow for the day. We popped into three or four boutiques before two shops kindly agreed to let some strange girls take off with their $450 dollar mannequins. Success! After we received many strange glances from onlookers on the street, probably wondering why we were carrying around nude mannequins, we finally arrived back at our office.
That’s when things really got crazy. First, we named our obedient mannequins Bruce and Sandy. Then, we began with our creative project of taking pictures of the mannequins wearing merchandise for Geno Auriemma’s Fast Break restaurant. The mannequins were very obliging and looked fabulous in all of the merchandise. I think we all may have a future in professional photography. Thanks Sandy and Bruce!
I love the Japanese!! And with the launch of this 59-foot robot from the Gundam Series only strengthens my reasoning for this. Always concerned by the chance that mutant lizards may attack, Japan has placed this statue just outside the heart of Toyko. The picture above is of the robot at night in all its glory. Can I be the first to say that New York should definitely trade the Statue of Liberty for this – just for a few months.
Uniqlo once again comes out with another fun viral microsite to promote their Summer (June) Collection. Currently the website seems to be in beta with additional features still to come, so for right now the main features are landscapes across Japan. With any Uniqlo project e-commerce is only a click away, activated by clicking on the photo.
For all your social web users, a shareable version of the site can be embedded in to your blog, facebook, myspace, etc properties. See ours below:
I guess when you are tired of fixing up your old car, the only thing to do is spray paint it. Sara Watson, an artist from The University of Central Lancashire made this incredible optical illusion using a few cans of paint and a battered Skoda Fabia.
If you are ever in the mid 20’s on the West Side (7th Ave), be on the look out for New York’s Headless Horseman. FYI, Brittany put her life in danger to get this iPhone pic, so you all better recognize.
World famous fashion designer Hedi Slimane, best know for his work at Dior Homme has taken an active role in photography. Over the past year he has photographed super model Kate Mos, Courtney Love, Lindsay Lohan, and even this seasons Prada campaign.
Hedi continues to impress me with his black and white photos that some how seem to always have a little natural light breaking through. You can catch most of his work on his personal diary blog.
Vogue decided to switch it up this month, by placing Scarleet Johansson on the cover. Design Scene has been nice enough to post the whole collection from the editorial piece.
